At 11:00 AM Pacific time on July 4th 2014, all 50 State Capitols in the United States rang a facsimile of the Liberty Bell to commemorate the august occasion of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia.  In Nevada it occurred outside the Nevada State Museum in Carson City.  About 40 people were in attendance as the Nevada Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Fife and Drums opened the ceremony with Yankee Doodle Dandy.  It was refreshing to hear the Declaration of Independence recited.  At 11:00 AM, all in attendance, from seniors to children, were invited to the bell and call out the state they represented or were born in."

Members of the Nevada State Sons of the American Revolution Fife and Drums are:  Brian W. Marsha B., Ed C., Roger L., and David H..
